Two Boys Cross Country Runners are Heading to State
Two Boys Cross Country Rams are State-bound! Heru Bey ’27 took fifth and Shil Penilla ’26 finished 25th at the District Competition. Bey and Penilla will represent MICDS at the State Meet this week. Go Rams!
Cyclocross Team Raises Money for Cancer Research
Members of the MICDS Cyclocross team once again joined in the annual Pedal the Cause cycling challenge, now in its 15th year, to raise critical funding for cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Due to inclement weather, the race was canceled, but the team, Merlin’s Magic Riders, captained by Sawyer Merlin ’25, raised over $50,000 this year, and $139,000 in total, since Merlin started the team in 2022. Merlin will be honored on the Podium by Pedal the Cause later this month, the youngest-ever recipient of this award. Congrats to the Cyclocross team and Sawyer!
Girls Cross Country Takes Third at District Meet
The MICDS Girls Cross Country team had a great time at the Class 4 District 1 Meet. Frances Applegate ’27 finished with a second-place medal, Grace Coppel ’25 finished with a fourth-place medal, Elise Tourais ’28 finished with a seventh-place medal, and Narya Phatak ’26 finished with an 18th-place medal. The girls finished Districts in third place as a team and qualified for the State Championships. Tourais, Phatak, and Carolyn Clennan ’26 all PRed, and Tourais ran the ninth-fastest in school history in the 5000M with a time of 19:52.00.

Boys Swimming & Diving Takes Top Spot at MICDS Invitational
At the MICDS Swim Invitational for Boys Swimming & Diving, our team earned the top spot on the podium with 408 points. Way to go, team!
Girls Tennis Earns 3rd at State
In the State competition for Girls Tennis, our team bounced back and earned a 5-1 third-place finish overall. Way to go, Rams!
MICDS Volleyball Makes History
We’re incredibly proud of the 2024 MICDS Volleyball team for their record-breaking season! The team made history by winning not only Districts but Sectionals, too. Although they were defeated in the Class 3 quarterfinals, this team has made School history on the volleyball courts. Way to go, Rams!
