Caroline Dong ’17 recently won the MMTA (Missouri Music Teachers Association) Pre-Collegiate Piano Competition (state competition) November 8 at Southeast Missouri State University River campus in Cape Girardeau, MO, with her repertoire of J.S. Bach Prelude and Fugue in C# Major, Schumann Sonata Op. 22 No. 2 Movt. 1 in G Minor, and Ravel Toccata from the suite Le Tombeau de Couperin.
In addition to being the winner of the MMTA Pre-Collegiate Piano Competition (state), she is also the winner of the Morning Etude Piano Competition, silver medalist of the St. Louis Young Artist Piano Competition, honorable mention recipient of the MTNA (Music Teachers National Association) Pre-Collegiate Senior Division Piano Competition (national competition), and a three time honorable mention recipient of the MMTA Pre-Collegiate Piano Competition (state). She has also performed in the Shepley Concert Series at Christ Church Cathedral.
