Last Friday morning, second graders invited their special guests to their classrooms to participate in Second Grade Math Morning. They spent time teaching their parents, grandparents and special friends about how to solve number problems with bar models.
Bar models, as Second Grade Homeroom Teacher Ms. Kraushaar describes, „…are pictorial representations of a problem. They allow us to visualize a problem or number story so that we can more easily know which operation to apply to accurately solve it.“
Without a doubt, it was a great morning for math with the „addition“ of such engaged guests and blossoming young teachers!
