Upper School yearbooks were distributed this week, marking another milestone in the long-standing tradition of the MICDS Phoenix. The Phoenix, named after the merger of Mary Institute and Saint Louis Country Day School 30 years ago, continues to be an eagerly anticipated student-produced publication that captures and immortalizes the vibrant life of our School throughout the year.
Through creating the yearbook, students gain valuable skills in layout design, copywriting and editing, photography, and time management. They unleash their creativity while adhering to strict deadlines, making the entire experience educational and enjoyable. The culmination of their hard work arrives months later on the much-anticipated «yearbook reveal» day, a moment filled with suspense and pride.
In an era dominated by digital media, the MICDS Phoenix proudly stands as one of the few remaining printed documents encapsulating an entire year. It preserves cherished traditions such as senior pages, superlatives, senior ads, and more, ensuring that memories are forever etched within its pages.
