Homecoming week at MICDS isn’t just a celebration of school spirit; it’s a whirlwind of fun, friendship, and tradition for Rams of all ages. From the festive and hilarious dress-up days to the epic pep rally, it’s the perfect way to RAMp into a weekend of community events and athletic contests. When all is said and done, Homecoming at MICDS is a powerful reminder of what makes our school community a vibrant and engaging place to be.
Spirit Week
In the days leading up to the weekend of festivities, students in each division participated in themed dress-up days. The creativity, camaraderie, and school spirit were unmatched! Students outdid themselves in expressing their Ram pride with unique and imaginative looks. From pajama party pals to beach vibes, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The entire school community especially celebrated the traditional Homecoming t-shirt day! This year’s shirt was designed by Taylor Gast ’27, and she said, « Designing the Homecoming shirt this year was so much fun because my classmates helped me come up with great ideas! I was so excited to hear when my design was picked because I put in a lot of effort and listened to advice that paid off. »
Per Head of School Jay Rainey’s student survey results, the highlight of Spirit Week is Friday’s full-out spirit wear day. For this special occasion, eighth graders met families at morning carpool with the opportunity to purchase beads, pom poms, thunder sticks, and more to add a little oomph to their style and pride on this spirited day.

All-School Pep Rally
The RAMbunctious week of spirit culminated in an all-school pep rally where students, faculty, and staff gathered in the MAC to cheer on our varsity athletes and enjoy performances by our talented cheerleaders and Middle and Upper School Bands. Athletic Council co-heads Cameron Cooper ’25 and CeCe Harris ’25 announced the varsity captains of each fall sport, who introduced their teammates. Each team dressed up with a theme and performed short skits or dances before running through a gauntlet of cheerleaders, making way for the next team. Awards were given to students in each division who had shown exceptional school spirit throughout the week, and several lucky participants competed in a game of « Charger Says, » a twist on the classic Simon Says. The atmosphere was electric, and everyone left feeling energized and ready to support our Rams, rain or shine.
Many thanks to our community of Rams for making this week one to remember! Check out the full Homecoming event recap here.
