Ninth grade Spanish students visited 2nd and 3rd graders last week to share some original stories that they had written and illustrated. The books were designed as traditional English-language storybooks, but they were special: all stories were written in Spanish! Upper School students read their books to their Lower School friends.
The older students carefully designed their storybooks to include vocabulary that Lower School students are currently learning. In addition to reading their stories out loud, the 9th graders also asked listening comprehension questions to the 2nd and 3rd graders. All of the students enjoyed the activity and learned new language skills, while the 9th graders had the additional experience of learning a few teaching skills!
