It has been a record-breaking fall for the MICDS Upper School singers! Eighteen MICDS Upper Schoolers were selected by audition to perform with the 2023 St. Louis Metro District Choir.
The blind audition consisted of each student performing a 90-second prepared vocal solo for a panel of three adjudicators, followed by a round of key signature identification and the completion of two challenging sight-singing exercises.

*In addition to being named to the district choir, seven students scored in the top 20 of their respective voice parts, making them eligible to audition for the 2024 Missouri All-State Choir.
The St. Louis Metro District Choirs performed on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. The Treble Choir was directed by Pam Grooms, Director of Choral Activities at Lindenwood University. The mixed voice choir was directed by Dr. Jennifer Sengin, Visiting Assistant Professor of Choral Studies at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
