When classes conclude each day in the Lower School, after-school Enrichment classes within our Extended Day program kick into high gear to the delight of many Junior Kindergarten through fourth-grade students. Taught by MICDS teachers and other educators, students have the opportunity to extend their learning off the beaten curricular path, nurture friendships, and challenge themselves in new and fun ways.
Classes meet for six to eight weeks each semester from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and include areas of interest such as:
- Chess
- Field Hockey
- Little Veterinarian School
- Creative Coding
- Video Production
- Math Makers
- Outer Space
- Yoga
- Art
- Piano
Director of Extended Day Matt Blair said, “Enrichment classes are such a bonus to the Extended Day program. It gives students an opportunity to learn and try something new that they may never have thought about learning before. And, I enjoy looking for potential classes as I get to learn new things as well!”
