Beasley Students Continue Exploring When the School Day Ends

Ready to take a trip back to medieval times? Excited about creating motorized model planes? Eager to add another language to your repertoire? Our littlest learners are kicking off their after-school explorations with a new slate of enrichment classes. The fun continues even after the school day ends!

The MICDS Lower School Enrichment Program provides students in Junior Kindergarten (JK) through fourth grade with additional learning opportunities that are fun, rewarding, and educational. Students explore their interests, strengthen friendships, and challenge themselves while having a great time after school. Each session taught by MICDS teachers and outside organizations offers students an opportunity to travel new paths of curiosity and joy.

Matt Blair, Director of Extended Day, enjoys unveiling new course selections and watching the fun unfold for students and instructors alike. “It’s great to see students interacting with classmates they might not know well or with students in other grades,“ he said. „And it’s awesome to watch our Lower School teachers join in the design and production of the courses. Their creativity is impressive and demonstrates their dedication to our students.“

Classes typically meet for six to eight weeks from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. The current session offerings include:

  • Chess by En Passant
  • Medieval Fun
  • Bricks4Kidz
  • Eric Carle Book Club
  • Little Wilderness School by Little Medical School
  • Yoga
  • LEGOS
  • La Petite Ecole (French lessons)
