Our 2020 Blue Whale Cafe performers took to the stage last Friday in honor of an important cause. Among an ocean of applause and support, students and some faculty performed over 30 acts which included singing, guitar, ukulele, violin, viola, keyboard, piano, drums, harp and a dulcimer. Students showcased original songs as well as popular classics and modern favorites. This year marked the 24th annual Blue Whale Cafe, and over 250 people attended the non-stop show.
At the 2020 show, $2,800 was raised and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Living Oceans Foundation. Living Oceans preserves, protects and restores ocean health through providing science-based solutions.
Thank you to the many attendees and performers for making this year’s show such a success! Also, thank you to all who helped organize and run the event. “We are so grateful for all of the Arts Council members, servers, chaperones, performers and, of course, Mr. Elliot for all of their help this year. We couldn’t have done it without them!” said Ms. Tiffany D’Addario, Upper School Fine Arts Teacher. Event organizers included Mimi Brown ’21, Maya Pinz ’20, Morgan Niven ’20, Skyler Lesslie ’20, Ms. D’Addario and Upper School Fine & Performing Arts Teacher Mr. Patrick Huber.
A special shout-out goes to Dilyn Halverson ’21 for creating the Blue Whale design this year. See the artwork below!
We’re already looking forward to next year’s 25th Blue Whale Cafe!
