Seventh grade students and their teachers traveled by bus to Camp Lakewood in Potosi, MO recently to celebrate the end of the trimester as the class of 2024. They participated in several outdoor activities including a survival hike where they learned to build a fire with flint and steel and build shelters using only things found in the woods. Students slept in cabins and ate family style in the main building. Before turning in for the night, they were entertained by Camp Lakewood staff around a campfire with songs and skits. This was a technology free and relaxing weekend focused on community building as a class. The students spent time talking, laughing and singing as they strengthened friendships and started some new ones.
