The 7th graders came together as a community at Camp Wyman last week, giving up technology and embracing time with each other and their teachers.
Their two-day, one-night experience included climbing, team building, zip lining, target sports and eating s’mores. They enjoyed time with a special guest, drummer and storyteller Kenya Ajanaku. Ajanaku travels around the country to share African culture through dance, drums and stories, and the students loved his performance.
In between scheduled activities, students played outside every free moment they had. The teachers laughed that their students were able to survive and thrive without technology for two days! The campout was a celebration of the end of the trimester and the beginning of some new friendships.
