This week, Erica Moore, Director of Diversity, visited Veronica Wachter’s first grade class to read and do a literature extension around the book, I Love My Hair. Students enjoyed discussing texture, color and hairstyles that they have. This activity was a perfect complement to the first grade’s “Me I Am” theme that helps students discover how they are alike and how they are different, and how to appreciate those similarities and differences and still be friends.
