Campus Closure Due to Inclement Weather

Weather Updates

Given the high probability of sustained hazardous travel conditions due to inclement weather, the MICDS campus will be closed to all activities on Monday, January 6. The faculty workday in preparation for Winter Term, originally scheduled for Monday, has been postponed to Tuesday, January 7, and the first day of Winter Term classes has been postponed to Wednesday, January 8. School will not be in session for students until Wednesday, January 8. In the event that conditions warrant further schedule modifications, we will communicate them to you as quickly as we can via our usual channels, including email, text message, social media, and website banner. We are grateful as always for your partnership and understanding of our decisions in response to severe weather conditions.

Five Student-Athletes Commit on Early College Signing Day

Five senior student-athletes signed early letters of intent to receive athletic-based scholarships by committing to collegiate programs in track, swimming, baseball, cross country, and soccer. This early signing precedes a larger event in February that includes additional student-athletes committing to colleges.

Director of Athletics Josh Smith shared, „We are fortunate as a school to have five student-athletes from the Class of 2023 signing during the early fall signing date, but it is so much more than just good fortune. This represents the intersection of drive and talent, and it comes with years and years and hours and hours of hard work. I am sure they would want to thank their parents for the endless rides and off-hour meals, their coaches for constantly pushing them to be better, and their teammates who competed alongside them. Congratulations to our signees, as this is an amazing achievement and a well-earned honor.“

Below are the students who participated in the early signing opportunity. Congratulations to these MICDS student-athletes who are leveling up in their chosen sport. Best of luck on your next athletic journey!
