Seventh and eighth grade French classes held a lesson in the Missouri History Museum during a field trip on Wednesday. Often covering French history, culture and language in the classroom, the visit to the museum reminded students of the deep French heritage of their own backyard. „While we are far away from France, Quebec or Louisiana, it makes the language learning more meaningful when students see French influence in St. Louis,“ shared French Teacher Zuowei Chang.
French Teacher Tricia Dimit echoed her colleague saying, „Hopefully it brings the course material closer to home and makes it more real.“
Students explored the following exhibits: The 1904 World’s Fair: Looking Back at Looking Forward and Seeking St. Louis: Currents and Reflections. They examined French artifacts and historical connections to France.
