Seventh and eighth grade French classes held a lesson in the Missouri History Museum during a field trip on Wednesday. Often covering French history, culture and language in the classroom, the visit to the museum reminded students of the deep French heritage of their own backyard. « While we are far away from France, Quebec or Louisiana, it makes the language learning more meaningful when students see French influence in St. Louis, » shared French Teacher Zuowei Chang.
French Teacher Tricia Dimit echoed her colleague saying, « Hopefully it brings the course material closer to home and makes it more real. »
Students explored the following exhibits: The 1904 World’s Fair: Looking Back at Looking Forward and Seeking St. Louis: Currents and Reflections. They examined French artifacts and historical connections to France.
