Earlier this week, I sent out a one-question survey to all MICDS students: “What is something you are excited to do this summer?” I received 181 responses and enjoyed reading them all. I would like to share them with you in turn.
I have written before about our Ram Community Polls this year and the accompanying Ram Shout Outs that offered students, teachers, and staff the opportunity to give thanks and kudos to each other. I decided to use the celebratory Ram Shout Outs format to share our students’ plans for their summer vacations, which you will find here. Responses are listed in the order in which they were submitted. They are as varied and joyful and wonderful as the students who wrote them.
I also thought it would be fun to pull together the word cloud below to help you visualize the words that our students used, with greater and lesser frequency, to give voice to their summer plans and hopes. (A high-resolution version of the image is available here.)
This is the time of year for endings and new beginnings alike. The members of the Class of 2021 will graduate on Sunday, and the rest of our students will conclude their school year only 11 days later. Opportunities for renewal and fresh adventures await them all in the season to come.
Always reason, always compassion, always courage. I wish you a very happy weekend with your loved ones.
