On Sunday, members of the 1st and 3rd grade Girl Scouts troops attended an exciting event at the St. Louis County Library Headquarters. The event was a remarkable opportunity to meet and speak with Sylvia Acevedo, CEO of the Girl Scouts, USA.
Sylvia has been an engineer, rocket scientist, award-winning entrepreneur, businesswoman and commissioner on the White House Initiative for Education Excellence for Hispanics. She encouraged the girls to dream big and to never settle for “No.” They received a Girl Scouts CEO badge and an autographed copy of her newly authored book, Path to the STARS, My Journey from Girl Scout to Rocket Scientist.
Two Beasleys had the chance to meet with Sylvia personally. Both felt very special getting the chance to meet the top person of their organization. What an honor!
