Our Search Committee has been hard at work over the last several weeks reviewing files and interviewing candidates. Interest in the position has been strong with more than 80 qualified applicants from across the country submitting materials.
After two rounds of administrative review, the search committee closely examined the materials of the 30 most qualified candidates, and selected ten of these for the initial round of phone interviews. From there, they narrowed the field to six candidates for full reference checks and additional phone conversations. Four “finalists” are now being scheduled for on-campus visits this month.
Upper School parents will be invited to meet the candidates during their individual campus visits. More information about each finalist will be available soon, but meanwhile we ask Upper School parents to mark their calendars for the following dates and times for the candidate meetings.
Thursday, November 11 – 2:15 to 3:00 p.m. – Blanke Room
Tuesday, November 16 – 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. – Blanke Room
Friday, November 19 – 2:15 to 3:00 p.m. – Blanke Room
Monday, November 22 – 2:15 to 3:00 p.m. – Blanke Room
Upper School parents will receive push page emails over the next two weeks with additional information about each candidate. The Search Committee hopes to complete its work soon with an announcement to the full school community by the end of the year. The new division head will begin on July 1, 2011, as Louise Morgan steps down from the role next summer following a long and distinguished career at MICDS.
