This week during Lisa Lyle’s Head of School Hot Topics Session, she shared with parents an MICDS handout called “Living the Mission,” which spells out what our bold Mission means and how members of our community embody it. The handout articulates several of the most compelling components of the School’s Mission and culture: Excelling in Academic and Community Engagement, Fostering Compassion and Inclusion, Leading with Purpose and Service, and Standing for what is Good and Right.
“At MICDS, we strive each day to uplift our bold Mission as we prepare the whole person with the intellectual, social/emotional and leadership skills they need to be successful and positive contributors to a diverse, global and rapidly changing society,” the handout says.
Parents came together with Ms. Lyle and Assistant Head of School Brian Thomas during the session to talk more in-depth about the Mission and what it means to be a part of the MICDS community.
“Living the Mission” can be found on the MICDS Mission Statement page of the School’s website.
