It’s official, MICDS students are 100 days smarter! On February 3, Senior Kindergarteners celebrated the 100th day of school by dressing up like centenarians. They sported fake beards, gray-haired wigs, faux wrinkles, eyeglasses, and at least one life-alert necklace. “They were in character all day, walking around the room all hunched over and complaining about back pain,” laughed Senior Kindergarten Teacher Kelly Hummel.
In addition to dressing up, honoring this milestone is an excellent way to break up the year and celebrate the students’ achievements so far this year. SK students rotated through 100-themed centers and played games such as Race to 100 and cup stacked with 100 cups. Students also collected 100 small everyday items in a baggie, such as goldfish crackers, plastic googly eyes, mini marshmallows, Skittles, coins, seashells, and beans, to name a few. The signature event was using the Aging Booth app to age their photos 100 years into the future.
Congratulations on your accomplishments, SK! Here’s to 100 more!
