On Wednesday, MICDS parents came together once again as part of our Community Interfaith Series. They gathered to continue learning about the diversity of faith in our School community. Specifically, they discussed Hinduism and Buddhism, two religions with common origins but pronounced differences today.
Jack Sisk is a member of the St. Louis Hindu Temple and Director of the Living Insights Center. He was joined by Leena Tibrewala, parent of Aryan ’25 and Eshaan ’21. Daniel Eng is a member of the Mid America Buddhist Association. Sisk, Tibrewala and Eng shared the tenets of their respective faith before the audience was invited to join groups for continued discussion. These small table discussions created a warm, welcoming atmosphere for parents to learn about the diversity of faiths in their children’s school.
MICDS parent Nela Navarrine has enjoyed the Community Interfaith Series. She remarked that a running theme throughout the series was “To affirm that being a good person and loving each other is common to all faiths.”
