The annual Ronald S. Beasley All School Winter Program drew its usual standing-room-only crowd of parents, grandparents, siblings and friends on December 20. Every grade level, JK-4, performed songs representative of a variety of holidays as well as the winter season. Students ended the program with a crowd favorite, “Peace The Whole World Over.” Each verse of the song used the word “peace” in a language spoken by one of our MICDS families. This year it was sung in Italian, Afrikaans, Hebrew, Spanish, Hindi, French and Hungarian.
“The Beasley Winter Program celebrates holiday traditions and includes pieces for Diwali, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah and New Year. Our young musicians celebrate with singing, dancing and instrument playing,” said Barb Spieler.
More than 100 students in 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade volunteered for a special leadership role and were featured on Orff instruments, tubano drums, vocal quartets and dances.
