The Messing Gallery welcomes artist Laura Lebeda and her show, « Divine Nature. » Lebeda said, « I draw and I construct. My intention is to invite viewers to look closer and see the sacred in our everyday lives. Each art piece creates a narrative of exploring and investigating through a use of mark making as the main component. By creating in two distinctly different art mediums, large charcoal drawings on paper and mixed media with clay, together a unified body of work is formed. My belief is that each body of work stands on its own, yet together a more in-depth, cohesive narrative emerges and exists. »
The gallery hosted an opening reception on Friday, April 12. The space also currently features additional works from MICDS AP Art students in Lower Messing Gallery.
The gallery will feature Lebeda’s art until April 26. The Messing Gallery is open Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
