Fifth and sixth grade classes enjoyed a musical performance on Thursday when the Metro Theater Company visited MICDS! The theater company performed Frida Libre, written by Karen Zacarías with music by Deborah Lapuma. The clever production focused Mexican painter Frida Kahlo and used Dramatic License to alter the facts of her life for artist purposes.
Synopsis from Metro Theater Company:
Inspired by the childhood of legendary Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, Frida Libre is the uplifting story of young Frida who plans to become a doctor and her new friend Alex who secretly wishes to be a wrestler.
