Eighteen MICDS students attended last week’s Missouri State Thespian Conference. Eleven competed in acting competitions and two groups received the highest possible score—a superior rating. These two groups will compete at the International Thespian Conference.
GeGe Pflager ’18, Jamerson Durrill ’19 and Lauren Martin ’18 won a superior award for their winning scene from Agnes of God and were asked to perform the scene in front of everyone at the conference. Hope Abel ’19 and Alexander Huber ’19 also received a superior rating for their performance of a scene from Almost Maine.
Excellent ratings went to Bianca Sforza ’19 for lighting design from Almost Maine and Alaina Baumohl ’19 for her musical rendition of “I’d give my life for you” from Miss Saigon. For stage management, Sam Kastor ’19, Charlie Southern ’19 and Haley Driver ’20 and Maggie Onder ’19 were all awarded good ratings. The tech challenge team (MacKenzie Macam ’20, Bianca Sforza, Kaylie Carpenter ’18, Charles Huber ’20 and Maggie Onder) scored first place and second place in drop folding and sound.
Congratulations to all!
