MICDS Welcomes Newest Rams and Celebrates Community

The excitement of new beginnings filled the air as MICDS welcomed its newest Lower and Middle School Rams at the annual Accepted Families Celebration events. These joyous events provided an opportunity for newly-enrolled and accepted families to connect, ask questions, and immerse themselves in the spirit of MICDS.

Director of Enrollment Management Eric Brunt said, «Witnessing the genuine excitement and gratitude from our newest Rams and their families energizes us as admissions professionals. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the connections forged during the admissions process grow into a shared sense of community. Celebrating this milestone with them is a highlight of our year!»

Lower School Accepted Families Celebration

In Beasley Lower School, new families were greeted by a spirited squad of Middle School cheerleaders before entering the dining hall to connect with Lower School faculty, staff, and admission volunteers. The bright and cheery morning allowed families to commune, explore Lower School classrooms, and chat with faculty one-on-one.

New Beasley students enjoyed playing in their future classrooms, making new friends, hugging Charger the Ram, and proudly holding their «Home of a Future MICDS Ram» yard signs.

Bill Senti, Associate Director of Admission for Lower School, said, «The morning accepted event welcoming new families to our school was filled with positive energy and excitement! Faculty, staff, and dedicated parent ambassadors came together to share their enthusiasm and help new families feel at home at Beasley. It was a wonderful celebration of new beginnings with the families we have gotten to know so well through our admissions process.»

Welcome, new Lower School families!

Middle School Accepted Families Celebration

The McDonnell Athletic Center (the MAC) buzzed with anticipation as newly-accepted and enrolled Middle School families gathered for their celebratory event. The delightful sounds of the Middle School choir, band, and orchestra welcomed families as they arrived. Inside, a vibrant gathering included student speakers, a delicious breakfast, and opportunities to connect with current and future MICDS families and faculty and staff.

Students enjoyed activities such as a scavenger hunt, which encouraged them to connect with a variety of community members and peers, play giant Jenga and basketball, chat with a librarian, play an instrument, high-five a Rams cheerleader, and even meet Head of School Jay Rainey and his dog, Nelson.

Two eighth-grade student speakers, McCormack Amini ’29 and Skyler Dastgah-Bradford ’29, rounded out the event with spirited remarks about being a Ram in the Middle School. It was a truly fun event for all ages, setting the stage for new students to dive into the MICDS community.

Kerry Bryan, Associate Director of Admission for Middle School, said, «We had a blast welcoming our new Rams! It was fantastic to see everyone diving into the activities and really experiencing what makes MICDS so special. The teachers and staff were absolutely amazing, and they helped create a welcoming environment for all of our new families. I’m so happy that everyone was able to feel the genuine warmth of our community.»

To our newest Rams and their families: a heartfelt welcome! We’re thrilled to embark on this journey of learning and growth together in the upcoming school year and beyond. Thanks to everyone who helped make this welcoming experience memorable for our newest families. The future at MICDS is bright, and we’re excited to see what these new Rams will achieve!
