PA Fall Coffee Overflows with Joyful MICDS Parents & Guardians

Written by Kelly Wright P’25, P’27, & P’29, PA President

The Parents Association (PA) held their annual kickoff event, the PA Fall Coffee, this morning in Olson Hall. It was greatly attended by many enthusiastic parents, including quite a few new families! There was also a record number of dads in attendance!

A very lively and boisterous Activities Fair preceded the meeting with many of our PA committee chairs and co-chairs representing their teams of parent volunteers. Parents and guardians were able to connect in person and find out how to best get involved with the many different committees. If you were unable to attend, check out our committee descriptions on the Parents Association portal page (click the button called “PA Volunteer Descriptions & Sign-Up Info”).

PA President, Kelly Wright P’25, P’27, & P’29, welcomed all, and Head of School Jay Rainey spoke in depth about “reclaiming our narrative” and on our Parent-School Partnership. Mr. Rainey’s remarks were very well-received and much appreciated by all. Associate Director of Development – Annual Giving, Sue Ann Stanton, also spoke about the MICDS Fund and the importance of parental support in giving our students the best possible educational experience that can be had.

During the business portion of the meeting, members of the 2022-2023 Parents Association Executive Board, the Class Parent Chairs and Vice Chairs, and the over 100 parent volunteers which comprise our teams of appointed committee chairs and co-chairs were recognized and highlighted. For the rosters of these incredible volunteers, please refer to the PA Portal Page.

The MICDS Parents Association is a truly strong and vibrant group. The PA’s mission is to foster closer relationships among the parents/guardians, students, faculty, and administration of the School and to maximize positive parental involvement in the School. These goals will easily be attained given the incredible parents and guardians of our MICDS students.

Save the date! The next Parents Association meeting will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022.  We encourage all to attend and keep our PA strong!  Go Rams!
