You may have noticed students climbing a tree outside of Danforth Hall during the past week. Middle schoolers were given the opportunity to climb a large tree and get a close up perspective of the leafy giant. The students learned about four general subjects – falling objects, photosynthesis, simple machines, and seed dispersal.
„The experience was awesome. It was kind of scary going up a huge tree but it was still tons of fun. I learned all about seed dispersal and how it works,“ said Keller Goldstein ’23.
Science in a Tree is an outdoor adventure education program designed for students from grades 3 to 12. They travel to local schools to deliver a unique on-campus event combining recreational tree climbing, adventure learning, and experiential science education. From http://scienceinatree.org/
