Six sophomore boys received permission to leave school on Wednesday to help at the University City Jewish Cemetery, where over 200 headstones were toppled over the weekend.
Steve Schepman, Jack Wehrle, Luke McCollough, Will Cooper, Jonas Hart and David Shapshovich helped with the clean up at the cemetery. While there they were privileged to meet Governor Eric Greitens who was visiting the cemetery to help with the clean up.
People of all ages, ethnicities, socioeconomic levels and religions worked together to clean up the cemetery on Wednesday to show that they care about each other and care about our city.
It was an experience that the MICDS students will carry with them for a long time.
