With no prior racing experience, training for the FIS Downhill, or support from a team and coach, Kaelyn Kroeger ’21 competed in a 6-day Speed Series for USSA and FIS athletes in Aspen, Colorado.
As a U16, Kaelyn was one of the younger kids in the USSA division. But, over the 6 days and 4 major races, she held her own with smooth fall-free runs. Kaelyn did not win or threaten the winners, but the top girls she raced are considered legitimate ski team prospects. After enjoying success and experience racing for the Hidden Valley ski team in Eureka, Kaelyn wanted to find the next level this year, and that she did!
