Senior Finishes 9th in Fencing World Championships and Fences on Five Continents in Six Weeks
Bogdan Hamilton ’22 finished ninth in the Junior Men’s Foil at the 2022 Junior and Cadet Fencing World Championships held in Dubai this week. Representing Canada, Hamilton defeated fencers from nine different countries before losing to an Italian in the Round of 16. This comes two weeks after Hamilton won the Bronze Medal at the Pan-American Fencing Championships held in Lima, Peru, and led Team Canada to the Silver medal. Hamilton finishes the 2021-22 international season ranked as one of the top 25 fencers in the world under age 20! Over the last six weeks, Hamilton has fenced on five continents: Europe (Italy), South America (Peru), Africa (Egypt), Asia (United Arab Emirates), and North America (USA). He will begin his collegiate fencing career at Columbia University this fall. Ram Nation is so proud! Way to go, Bogdan!
