Two Students Dance for Food Charity Event

Madeline Bluestone ’21 and Sasha Shanker ’22 recently put on their pointe shoes and danced their hearts out, participating in a charity event called Dance for Food. Together, they performed a ballet dance called “Western Symphony” at The Grandel Theater in St. Louis.

Dance for Food is an event that raises food for the hungry while delivering a cultural experience to the community and bringing the dance community together to help those in need. Last year’s Dance for Food series collected nearly 5,000 pounds of food which was donated to local food pantries. This year, partners include the Monsanto Fund, Farmworker Coordinating Counsel and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. To date, Dance for Food has raised and distributed nearly 18 tons of food to the Treasure Coast and the Palm Beaches. Learn more about the cause here.
