A Reflection on the Robotics Competition: A Test of Innovation, Strategy, and Endurance
By MICDS Robotics Teams
On January 25, 2025, MICDS’ Robotics teams Ramifications (Team #5155) and Rambunctious (Team #9905) participated in a day-long robotics competition. After competing in two previous meets earlier this season, their scores were tabulated up and then added to their score that day.
Both teams did great and Rambunctious finished within the top 10 of the competing teams. Ramifications was chosen by Saint Joseph’s Academy’s robotics team to be an alliance member for the elementation matches that were held at the end of the day. They fought bravely and finished in 4th place together.
Ramifications was awarded the tournament’s Control award for their portfolio’s detailed explanation of hardware and software components and explanations of how they improve their system along with their programming for their robot. Furthermore, Rambunctious won the Innovate Award for their work in being able to quickly adjust parts of their robot and change out custom-made parts and develop a unique solution for their cable management.
Both Ramifications and Rambunctious will advance to the Super Qualifier Competition on February 15 at Oakville High School for a chance to earn an opportunity to compete at the State Championships in March.
