Sutton Named Prep Athlete of the Week
Josh Sutton ’19 has been named Prep Athlete of the Week by The St. Louis American. As one of the top performers at last weekend’s sectional meet, read about his school record-breaking victories in sectional titles for the 100- and 200-meter dashes. Look out for him at the Class 4 State Meet this weekend!
Two Rams Accepted into WashU College Prep Program
Two MICDS students have been admitted to Washington University’s esteemed College Prep Program, « a multiyear initiative that prepares high-achieving students with limited financial resources for college. » Congratulations to Raygan McDile ’22 and Journee White ’22 who will study and live on the WashU campus for three summers while working in science labs prepping college essays and studying with university faculty.
9-year-old Swim Star
Gio Bucci ’28, at only 9 years old, has qualified in the Boys 10&U 50-meter backstroke and 100-meter backstroke for the Central Zone Swim Meet in Wisconsin this coming August. There, he will be part of the team that represents the Ozark Region. The future of MICDS swimming looks bright! Way to go, Gio!
Girl Scouts Spread Spring Cheer
As part of their community service goals, 1st grade Girl Scouts Troop 1783 and 3rd grade Troop 2098 created over 50 handmade spring wreaths, picture frames and inspirational kindness signs for their Beasley teachers and seniors at McKnight Place Assistant Living Facility. While at the senior assisted living facility, the Girl Scouts played a game of Meet a New Friend Bingo and spent quality time with the seniors. The seniors were so happy to take part in the visit and swiftly asked when the girl would return.
Girls Lacrosse Quarterfinals Victory
STL Today recounts the nail-biting MICDS Girls Lacrosse victory over Cor Jesu that helped our Rams claim a spot in the final four for the eighth consecutive year in a row. Despite losing eight seniors last year and challenging injuries, the team has given their all to the sport. Although they fell short at semifinals on Thursday, they put up an excellent fight!
