Congratulations to this week’s student standout below. Way to go #RamNation! And as always, if you have a story to share, please email weeklynews@micds.org.
Eighth Grader Walks the Red Carpet
Cole Gipson ’23 is featured in Where the Pavement Ends, a documentary directed by Jane Gillooly that « explores the charged relationship between the historically all-black town of Kinloch and its formerly all-white neighbor Ferguson, » as the Cinema St. Louis website describes. Gipson appears in the movie, the trailer and on the movie poster.
He shares, « My great-grandfather was the first ever black to graduate from St. Louis University in 1944 before integration. His archives were used for this documentary. » The documentary was shown at Tivoli last weekend as part of the St. Louis Film Festival, where Cole got to walk the red carpet!
