Kamat Brothers Featured in Ladue News for The Benchwarmer

Hans ’24 and Evan Kamat ’25 were recently featured in the Ladue News for their national award-winning product innovation, The Benchwarmer. They earned top prizes in the Young Entrepreneur Pitch Challenge, the Missouri AfterSchool Network Young Entrepreneur Pitch Challenge, and third place at the international 2023 Diamond Challenge. They are currently working on selling their product through Amazon and a local sporting goods distributor. Way to go, entrepreneurial Kamat brothers!

Li ‘24 Wins the 2023 MSHSAA Class 2 Tennis Singles Championship

A huge congratulations to tennis star Rachel Li ’24 who won the 2023 MSHSAA Class 2 Tennis Singles Championship last Friday at Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield, Missouri. This is the first time an MICDS Girls player has won the title in 21 years!

In the summary of the championship on STL Today, Head Girls Varsity Tennis Coach Brad Heinemann said, “Rachel is a player who has gotten better and better every year. She has grown and matured so much as a player. She peaked at the right time and needed to because Angela is a great player who doesn’t miss. Rachel needed to be at her best and she was.”

Junior Listed in Fall Follows Baseball Article

Junior Cameron Cooper ’25 is listed in the Fall Follows article by Prep Baseball Report in their showcase of excellent baseball players from the Class of 2025. Check out some of his strength and speed stats in the article.

Great Races for Boys Cross Country at the Hancock Invitational

Despite several absences due to injury, illness, and travel, the Boys Cross Country team ran great races at the Hancock Invitational. Dylan McDonough ’27 improved his previous best time by over a minute, earning an 8th place medal in the JV race. Alex McCarter ’25Tom Kinney ’27, and Jacob Daus ’25 also ran PRs on a challenging course.

PRs and Medals for Girls Cross Country

At the Girls Cross Country meet at Principia, Grace Coppel ’25 finished with a 4th place medal and a time of 19:33.90 and Frances Applegate ’27 finished with a 5th place medal and a time of 19:40.43. Both girls PRd and now have the 6th and 7th best times, respectively, in program history.

There were also a total of 15 PRs which include Addison Small ’25 with a PR of 21:11.90, Narya Phatak ’26 with a PR of 22:34.07, Carolyn Clennan ’26 with a PR of 22:52.29, Carli Salazar Estrada ’25 with a PR of 25:01.54, Lucinda Pickett ’27 with a PR of 25:46.91, Charlotte Medler ’26 with a PR of 25:55.80, Emily Rotskoff ’27 with a PR of 26:08.36, Chryssa Smith ’27 with a PR of 27:36.47, Zoe Dickherber ’26 with a PR of 27:45.19, Ramya Mariappan ’26 with a PR of 28:30.96, Ashley Ordonez ’26 with a PR of 29:10.44, Myra Arain ’27 with a PR of 31:48.57, and Kaviya Senthilkumar ’27 with a PR of 32:09.05.

At last weekend’s Hancock Invitational, Clennan and Phatak both medaled in the Varsity race. They finished 25th and 29th, respectively. Additionally, Alexandra Walker ’24, Maitland Michaelson ’27, and Addilyn Farmer ’26 medaled at the Hancock Invitational in the JV race. They finished 2nd, 7th, and 8th, respectively.

There were also a few PRs! Phatak PRd with a time of 22:24.20, Walker PRd with a time of 22:37.10, Katherine McNeil-Estes ’27 PRd with a time of 30:41.10, and Senthilkumar PRd with a time of 31:44.10. Way to go, Rams!

Field Hockey's Victory in Last Regular Season Game

The last regular game of the Varsity Field Hockey season is recapped by PrepSportsSTL. The team defeated Ursuline, 3-0. Way to go, Rams!

Girls Golf Makes Strong State Meet Showing

Last Friday, Girls Varsity golfers Morgan Withington ’25 and Mac Froedge ’25 took part in the State Meet at Crown Pointe in Farmington. They battled through windy conditions, shooting 89 and 77. Froedge’s 77 puts her five over par and T-8 overall!
