Strong Finish in Boys Cross Country
On Wednesday at McNair Park, Will Falk ’21 placed 4th in the Metro League Cross Country Championships, finishing with a time of 17:09, a season-best for him. He was also named to the All-Metro League Team. Way to go, Will!
Merit Scholarship Award for Future Veterinarian
Caitlin Paine ’21 received the Chancellor’s Award Merit Scholarship from the University of Missouri-Columbia, totaling $26,000 over the course of four undergraduate years. The Chancellor’s Award recognizes exemplary academic achievement and high potential during a full course of undergraduate study. Caitlin has also been awarded the University of Missouri Agriculture/Natural Resources Scholarship, which is presented to high-achieving students planning careers in agriculture, food, and natural resources. This merit scholarship will support Caitlin’s pre-veterinary studies with a $1,000 per year scholarship renewable for up to three years. Congratulations, Caitlin!
Published Author in the Pre-Collegiate Global Health Review
Congratulations to Shelly Bhagat ’22 for having her article published in the Pre-Collegiate Global Health Review (PGHR), which is a Johns Hopkins University student- and faculty-led global health journal featuring articles written by secondary school students. The article, titled “Climate Change: A Threat to Global Health,” can be found here.
The publication’s Editor-in-Chief, Siam Rezwan, said, “Shelly’s article underwent a rigorous review process, and ultimately, the article was selected for publication as it met our high standards…Our sincere congratulations to Shelly for the extraordinary accomplishment of authoring an article in an international peer-reviewed publication!”
Golfer Mikulec Medals at State Meet
Golf Captain Katie Mikulec ’22 medaled at the State Meet that wrapped up this week, with a 15th place tied finish, shooting an 82. Congratulations on a great season, Katie!
Ray Continues to Run To Victory
Congrats to Julia Ray ’23 on capturing the Metro League Cross Country Championship on Wednesday!
Football Preview: MICDS vs. John Burroughs
The MICDS Rams Varsity Football team will play the Burroughs Bombers this weekend, and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch high school sports column featured a preview of the game, including some commentary from Coach Fred Bouchard. Girls Tennis Goes to State
Three members of the Girls Tennis team competed in the individual and doubles state tournament last week. Congrats to Mikaela Mikulec ’24 and Rachel Li ’24 on their 2nd place finish in doubles, and congrats to Journee White ’22 for her 3rd place finish in the individual tournament. Way to go!
The Girls Tennis team is competing in the state tournament today and tomorrow. Good luck Rams!
