Due to a water main break north of campus, we are dismissing Upper School students early today. This early dismissal affects Upper School students only. If your student cannot drive themselves, please plan to pick them up immediately.

Athletics & After-School Updates - January 24

Please note the following athletics and activities updates: - Upper School Basketball games have been relocated to John Burroughs School this afternoon/evening. Times stay as scheduled. - The Upper School Wrestling tournament in the MAC will proceed as scheduled. - Upper School Squash in the MAC will proceed as scheduled. - All other Upper School sports practices and events, including Swimming, are canceled. - Lower and Middle School after-school activities will proceed as planned. Student Standouts: Girls Tennis Heads to State and Boys Swimming Achievements

Girls Tennis Takes District and Heads to State

Congrats to the MICDS Girls Tennis team on their recent wins at district matches. Journee White ’22 and Chelsey Nwamu ’23 took 3rd and Mikaela Mikulec ’24 and Rachel Li ’24 took 2nd in a hard-fought match against Visitation. Also at the Visitation match, Stella Kreisel ’23 finished 3rd in singles, winning against teammate Bennett Baur ’25.

In the Class 3 District 2 Tournament, the Rams earned a district title against defending state champion, John Burroughs. In doubles, White and Baur were victorious, and in singles, the Rams gained wins from White and Kreisel which set the stage for Nwamu to clinch the matchup. Check out this match recap from the St. Louis Post Dispatch. Next up is the State competition in Columbia. Way to go, Rams!

Boys Swimming Successes

MICDS Boys Swimming placed 3rd at the recent Lindbergh Invitational. The team took home the 200m Medley Relay and the 200m Freestyle Relay. Lee Naber ’22 placed first in the 200m Freestyle, and Jeffrey Ge ’24 took first place in the 100m Breaststroke. At a recent competition at Chaminade, MICDS won the meet, and Naber broke the school record in the 500m Freestyle with a time of 4:32:47. Congratulations on superior swims, Rams!
