Fourth Grader Becomes Published Artist
Lower School fourth grader Harper C. ’32 recently had art selected to be included in the Missouri Art Education Association’s Show Me Art Coloring Book. “This is a project that Harper did independently outside of school to grow her passion for creating and the arts,” said Lower School Art Teacher Sarah Garner. Harper’s artwork titled Mark Twain is on page 27 in the Show Me Art Coloring Book: Missouri Literature, 4th edition. According to MAEA, “It was a tough decision, but the best drawings were collected and curated into a 162-page coloring book based around the theme of ‘Missouri Authors, Poets, and Literature.’ Thanks to her talents in the contest, Harper is now a published artist!
“MAEA is very thankful and pleased to promote this coloring book of student artwork where 100% of the proceeds go back to Missouri students. All money raised from the sale of this coloring book helps fund the MAEA Future Visual Art Teacher Scholarship. So, in addition to being a published artist, [she is] also helping us offer scholarships to Missouri High School seniors who want to be an art teacher, museum educator, art therapist, or other visual art education careers.” Congratulations, Harper!
"The Voice" Publishes New Stories by Students
MICDS Baseball Earns District Championship
The Varsity Baseball team became the Class 4 District 3 Champions on Wednesday, defeating Cardinal Ritter 12-1. A recap of the game is on MaxPreps here. The article highlights Henry Cordes ’24, who pitched extremely well and hit well as a batter. Oscar Sorkin ’25 scored two runs and stole two bases. Colin Hutton ’24 scored two runs and stole two bases as well. Next up, they will be playing a sectional game on the road on May 21. Go Rams!
The team’s success has also been highlighted in MaxPreps for their 20-0 victory against the Gateway Tech Jaguars. The recap highlights Garrett Liberman ’25 with a strong performance on the mound and in the batter’s box. LJ Triplett ’26 went 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and a run. Henry Clay ’24 scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Last Friday, the team beat Clayton, 9-3. Here is that recap on MaxPreps which features Tyler Enyard ’24 as a solid hitter and pitcher. Dunnen McGaughey ’26 also went 2-for-3 with four RBIs, a triple, and a run. LJ scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-4.

Boys & Girls Lacrosse Hosts Clinic for City Academy
Boys Tennis Wins State Quarterfinal; Individual State Doubles Success
Congratulations to our Boys Tennis team for winning their State Quarterfinal last Friday, May 10, 5-0 over Cape Notre Dame! On Thursday of this week, in the Boys Tennis Individual State Tennis Finals, the doubles team of Arjun Puri ’25 and Max Padratzik ’27 defeated teams from Glendale and Platte County 6-0, 6-0! State Semis are today, May 17! Go Rams!
MS Squash Tournament Results and Recap
The curtain closed on another great squash season for the middle schoolers, with the 11th Middle School Squash Championships providing a thrilling ending. Originally planned as a two-day double elimination tournament on Wednesday, May 8, and Thursday, May 9, the forecast for bad weather forced a last-minute adjustment to a single elimination format, packing all the excitement into one action-packed day.
This condensed format didn’t dampen the competitive spirit. Players from both the 7th and 8th grades used the tournament as a chance to showcase their honed skills and strategic prowess against their peers. Coaches applauded the immense growth each player demonstrated throughout the season.
After an afternoon of intense rallies and exciting matches, 8th graders Nolan Ma ’28 and Audrey Taves ’28 emerged victorious, winning the 11th Middle School Squash Championship.
Congratulations to Nolan and Audrey for their win and to all the participants on a fantastic season! The dedication, sportsmanship, and determination displayed throughout the year were truly inspiring. Here’s to another successful season on the court next year!

Staff Spotlight: Nurses Nominated in St. Louis Post-Dispatch Program
Congratulations to our school nurses, Upper School Nurse Michelle Fox and Lower/Middle School Nurse Stephanie Presson, for being nominated and recognized in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch in their Nurses: The Heart of Health Care Program. Their nomination was shared during National Nurses Week along with these notes:
- For Ms. Fox – “She is kind, sweet, compassionate, a good listener, a good interviewer, respectful, empathetic and just loves the students so much!”
- For Ms. Presson – “For bringing the professionalism of nursing into the private school setting, and being a highly qualified nurse for the children.”
