Eight of the students above will be participating in the STARS program this summer. The six week research program introduces students to the various aspects of the scientific enterprise as practiced by successful scientists in academic, private, and governmental research institutions. The students are paired with professors and researchers to support their research projects and conduct scientific experiments.
Two of the accepted STARS students, Ella Halford and Lucy Cadanau, were selected to additional summer STEM programs and have chosen to pursue those. Ella is doing a summer research internship in the genomics platform at the Broad Institute at Harvard and MIT. Lucy will be attending the Engineering Innovation Program at Johns Hopkins University.
What an impressive group of science enthusiasts in the Upper School. Congratulations!
