Third graders had the opportunity to visit the Saint Louis Art Museum this week as part of a field trip centered around their States and Regions Social Sciences unit.
Three docents led the students through the Danforth Gallery and each child was given a sketch pad to take notes and sketch the artifacts on display.
“I liked learning about the Native American clothes. The beads were so pretty, ” said Abby M. ’29.
“I liked the information I learned about the Plains Native Americans,” added Sam G. ’29.
Students returned to campus with a deeper understanding and appreciation of the lives of Native Americans, their art, culture and the role they played in America and our own region.
