Civil Dialogue

Our goal, as always, is to foster constructive, respectful, and developmentally-appropriate dialogue with and among our students. As an antidote to a culture where discourse increasingly happens online and independent of a community’s norms and relationships, we want to nurture productive conversations. For our Upper School students especially, such conversations are part of our preparation for participation in a broader democratic process and world. However, in all divisions, our students and teachers engage in developmentally-appropriate discussions about the upcoming election as part of our commitment to our mission of developing critical thinkers who understand both the world around them and themselves. We seek to encourage student voice and growth and our students have proven, time and time again, capable of thoughtful and respectful discussion. We are grateful to everyone in our community for ongoing support of these efforts.
