There’s no better way to dive into summer than by attending Camp Pegasus. Campers explore an array of exciting activities in the arts, sciences, technology, sports, and swimming to ensure their brains and bodies are actively engaged throughout the day. Caring instructors and counselors serve as positive role models and lead the way to fun new experiences! All programs are full-day with lunch included. Before and aftercare options are also available.

Lunch:

Campers are invited to explore a vast and playful indoor/outdoor learning environment. Session themes are developed by our team of teachers and experienced early childhood specialists who understand how to create fun and inviting activities for all children. Kids enjoy themed activities, P.E., and swim instruction.
Age: All campers entering Kindergarten and turning 5 by August 1, 2024 are welcome!

What you can expect from our Ponies program:
- Thematic, playful learning indoors and outdoors
- Art, science, and dramatic play centers
- Daily P.E. games and indoor swimming instruction (Note that our indoor aquatics facility allows for a portion of the floor to be raised to accommodate our newest swimmers.)
- Professional teachers and dedicated counselors
- Low staff/child ratio
- Family-style lunch with the Ponies teachers
- Each two-week session includes one afternoon event where parents are invited to come and enjoy activities with their children.
- With smaller groups, space is limited! Special grouping requests are honored whenever possible.

- Trotters (Rising 1st-3rd Graders) — PROGRAM FULL
Each day as a Trotters camper includes science, art, maker space, drama, games, sports, and swimming! Swimming lessons are followed by recreational swim time. Themes foster learning and creativity. Parents are invited to a special event on the last day of each session. Special group requests are honored whenever possible.
Age: All campers entering 1st-3rd grade are welcome!

Coursers choose from a wide variety of engaging activities (arts, sciences, hobbies, etc.) and a range of sports (soccer, swimming, yoga, and more) to build a personal schedule that matches their individual interests.
Age: All campers entering grades 4-6 are welcome!

Coursers rank their activity and sports choices on the registration form. Campers attending more than one session may sign up for the same courses in multiple sessions but are encouraged to try new things.

- Aerodynamics and Flight (AF) – Build and fly all kinds of small aircrafts.
- Cooking (CO) – Fun with food. Mix and cook up a variety of recipes.
- Critter Care (CC) – The care and keeping of domestic animals. What everyone needs to know.
- Incredible Crafts (IC) – Art that goes beyond paper and paint. Cool and creative!
- Lego Dojo (LD) – Build, create, solve challenges, and explore basic robotics.
- Rockets (RO) – Build, design, and launch solid fuel model rockets.
- Science (SC) – Scientific principles at play! Explosions, dissecting frogs, and more.
- Silversmithing (SS) – Metals, beads, and design techniques. Make impressive gifts.
- Strategy Gameroom (GR) – Chess, Battleship, Stratego, etc. Build your strategy.
- Survivor (SU) – Orienteering, foraging, tool-making, fishing, rock climbing.
- Theater (TH) – Follow your muse and perform live on a professional stage.
- 3D Ceramics (3D) – Hands-on art in our ceramics studio.
- Video Game Creation (VG) – Create professional-looking video games. (Campers must have access to a parent-approved email account and password)
- Video Production (VP) – Take part in the making of a Pegasus classic movie.
- Woodworking (WW) – Learn the tools for making whimsical wooden creations.

- Archery (AR) – Take aim with bow and arrows as well as hand-held slingshots.
- Backyard Games (BG) – Keep active! Fun and challenging group P.E. games.
- Basketball (BB) – Take it to the hoop on our air-conditioned courts.
- Cheerleading (CH) – Catch the spirit! Learn cheers, jumps, stunts.
- Dance (DA) – Learn full dance routines and perform for a live audience.
- Fencing (FN) – En garde! Train like an Olympian. Strategy, footwork, and bladework.
- Field Hockey (FH) – Learn the basics of this competitive fast-paced sport.
- Flag Football (FF) – Non-contact version of this American classic.
- Soccer (SO) – Enjoy energetic scrimmages and a variety of soccer-related games.
- Softball/Baseball (SB) – Boys and girls of summer are back for America’s pastime!
- Swimming (SW) – The perfect way to hone your skills and cool off. Daily lessons followed by plenty of time for recreational swimming in our amazing indoor aquatics center.
- Yoga and Mindfulness (YM) – Develop healthy mind and body techniques through yoga, movement, and reflective activities.
- Summer Stock Theater (Rising 7th-10th Graders) — PROGRAM FULL
MICDS Summer Stock Theater is a specialized program focused on theatre (acting skills, production assistance, and performance). The program is open to new and experienced actors and tech crew. We welcome campers who are interested solely in the technical sides of the theater. All campers wishing to act are given a role.
Age: Campers entering 7th-10th grades are welcome!

- Breakfast Club: $150 per three-week session (Available for those entering 7th-10th grade.)*

- Final performance is on Friday, June 28 at 7 p.m.
What to expect from the Summer Stock Theater program:
- New and experienced actors and those interested in tech/crew
- Non-musical, live evening performance
- All campers wishing to act will be given a role
- Professional director in a state-of-the-art theater setting
- Workshops explore various aspects of acting and theater production
- Master classes in various aspects of theatre
Work with an experienced director to build a non-musical production in our professional theater facilities. Daily acting workshops will challenge you to stretch your imagination, build your performance skills, and collaborate with your fellow actors. There are two performances on the final day of camp: a dress rehearsal for a live audience of Pegasus campers and other guests, and an evening performance for family and friends.
All campers wishing to act in the final production are guaranteed a role. Casting decisions are made by our director and may include auditioning. Campers will learn auditioning techniques early in the session.

Starting or Continuing Your Leadership Journey - After your first YLI session is complete, any subsequent sessions will have additional specialty intermediate and advanced courses unlocked and available to you in each respective track.
Full Program Details:
Session A, Starting Your Leadership Journey, will have a foundational resume and portfolio-building course focused on telling the story of who you are and how to leverage your best qualities and experiences. Each student will also participate in an active daily team-building course and a course focused on soft skills necessary to be an exceptional leader such as effective communication, utilizing a growth mindset, adaptability, and much more. You will have one specialty course for Session A based on your track choice:

Additional Sessions Beyond One YLI Session—Continuing Your Leadership Journey:
Your first YLI two-week session includes foundational leadership courses as well as a custom course tailored to each specialty track. If you elect to participate in further YLI sessions, you will unlock the ability to select from a catalog of intermediate and advanced leadership courses both in and out of your specialty. Intermediate and advanced offerings include stress management, building your personal brand, and a comprehensive Leadership Bootcamp to prepare you for whatever is next for you.

Session A classes are set for each specialty. If you participate in more than one session, we will reach out to you with course offerings for that session in your track.

For Parents of Non-MICDS Pegasus Students:
Pegasus medical policies and forms will be managed through Magnus Health, MICDS‘ integrated health management platform. In late spring, you will receive an automated login email to access the MICDS Magnus Health Portal. Please note that your child may not attend Pegasus until you have met all medical form requirements.
For Parents of Pegasus Students Currently Attending or New to MICDS in 2024-25:
No additional medical policies or forms are required other than what is assigned for next school year already.

- Pegasus Staff
Pegasus takes pride in its dedicated, award-winning teaching staff who are talented and caring professional educators and coaches as well as artists. In addition, we carefully select high school and college students as counselors based on their experience, talents, and positive energy with kids. We work closely with our teachers and counselors to build an inviting environment where children are encouraged to engage in new and fun experiences. Our staff is committed to maintaining high safety standards at all times.
- Camp Nurse
Our staff nurse provides care to our campers during the regular camp day and assists with training our staff. Our nursing staff welcomes your questions. Please contact the nurse early in the enrollment process to make arrangements for handling any special medical conditions and/or the distribution of medication during the camp day. Please have all health-related forms turned in by May 24. If your child will need to take any form of medication at camp, please read our Medication Policy and complete the Medication Authorization Form to be turned in by May 24.

All teachers must attend the training meeting on Friday, June 7.
Availability for the entire 7 weeks is not a must. However, we require that you communicate any conflicts accurately and promptly as you become aware of them. Please note: background checks and reference checks need to be completed prior to becoming an employee.
Our first deadline for applications is February 15, but we continue to accept and review applications after that date. We aim to have all positions filled by early April. However, changes in enrollment or staff availability can lead to additional hiring throughout the Spring.

A limited number of these positions are open each year to students who are completing 9th grade prior to the start of camp. Associate Counselors are paid employees who serve to assist in our camp office and anywhere that campers and staff can be found.
